Who these terms apply to
These terms govern your use of oodoroland.com and any consulting services booked through it. By booking a call or using this site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not book.
The services are provided by Oodo Roland, a freelance software engineer. Contact: dev@oodoroland.com
The service
This site offers two types of consulting calls:
- ›Discovery Call — 30 minutes. An initial conversation to understand your problem and how I may be able to help.
- ›Strategy Session — 60 minutes. A focused working session covering architecture, systems design, scoping, or technical direction.
These are consulting conversations, not a retainer, employment agreement, or ongoing service contract unless separately agreed in writing. A call does not create an obligation on either party to continue working together.
Booking rules
- ›Bookings require at least 24 hours advance notice. Same-day bookings are not accepted.
- ›Slots are available up to 2 weeks ahead. Booking beyond this window is not possible.
- ›You will receive a calendar invite and confirmation email immediately after booking.
- ›A slot is only confirmed once you receive this confirmation. Do not assume availability until then.
Cancellation and rescheduling
- ›You may cancel or request to reschedule by emailing dev@oodoroland.com at least 24 hours before the scheduled call.
- ›Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may not be eligible for rescheduling.
- ›If I need to cancel or reschedule, I will contact you as soon as possible and offer an alternative slot.
No-shows
If you do not attend the call and have not cancelled in advance, the slot is considered forfeited. No automatic reschedule will be issued. Email me if there were exceptional circumstances.
Payment
Where a call or service requires payment:
- ›Payment is processed via Paystack. By completing payment you also agree to Paystack's terms.
- ›Payment is due before the call unless otherwise agreed.
- ›Completed calls are non-refundable. If a call did not take place due to my failure to attend, a full refund or reschedule will be offered.
- ›Disputes should be raised within 7 days of the call date.
What a call is not
Advice given during a call is professional technical opinion only. It is not:
- ›Legal, financial, or investment advice
- ›A guarantee of any specific outcome, revenue, or technical result
- ›A warranty that any recommended approach will work for your specific situation
You are responsible for any decisions you make based on what is discussed.
Confidentiality
What you share during a call — including your project details, business plans, and technical specifics — is treated as confidential. I will not disclose it to third parties without your consent.
I may reference anonymised, non-identifying examples from past work (e.g. "I once helped a founder solve X type of problem") but never in a way that would identify you or your business without your explicit permission.
Intellectual property
Any ideas, plans, or code you bring into a call remain yours. Anything I present to you during a call (frameworks, diagrams, code snippets) is provided for your use. Neither party acquires rights to the other's pre-existing IP as a result of a call.
If we agree to a separate project engagement, IP ownership will be defined in that agreement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, my liability for any claim arising from these services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific call giving rise to the claim. I am not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses — including lost revenue, lost data, or business disruption — even if I was advised of the possibility of such losses.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts, unless otherwise required by applicable law in your country.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the site or booking of a call after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
